ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – the fund-raising organization of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – is currently looking for a Network Engineer as follows.

Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house data, voice, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by implementing and maintaining local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. Participates with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide technical training where required. Collaborates with technical peers and department leaders to assess near‑ and long‑term network capacity needs. Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. Develops, implements and maintains policies and procedures for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery. Implements and maintains company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware. Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports. Participates in managing all network security solutions.


  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Commerce or a related field (will accept 3-year or 4-year Bachelor’s degree) and 5 years of relevant network experience required.
  • Experience may have been obtained concurrently and must include: (i) 5 years of experience with the installation, configuration and management of Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls and other related hardware/software in Data Center environment to include LAN and WAN design and implementation; (ii) 3 years of experience with Network architecture plan, design and documentation; (iii) 3 years of experience with IT Security Audit and compliance;(iv) 3 years of experience with managing network infrastructure of 500+ users and Datacenter operations; and (v) 3 years of experience with ensuring network stability and integrity, network security principles, and general network management best practices; and (vi) CCNA certification required.
