Job Purpose

Department Overview

Do you love getting to know people and working closely with them to achieve big goals? So do we! We work with people and foundations all over the country in support of St. Jude. Some of us meet donors in their homes, others work with them on the phone, and others solve problems, analyze data, and much more. Our purpose: helping donors impact the lifesaving work of St. Jude through major gifts, bequests and other planned gifts.

 

Internship Overview

As an intern on our Gift Planning team, you’ll learn how to cultivate, generate and steward planned gifts made to St. Jude including bequests, charitable trusts and gift annuities, and major gifts from both individuals and foundations.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with events and marketing campaigns focused on our key prospects and major donors
  • Preparing and analyzing data from donor reports and mailings
  • Working with the Gift Planning team on generating, tracking and following up with donor leads including tracking digital leads in a donor management system

Requirements

  • Requires a degree of judgement; ability to speak and write clearly and concisely for communication with internal and external relationships
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university, as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student (in good standing) and have a major in marketing, public relations, communications, business, or other related area
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
