    Job Purpose

    As a member of the ALSAC Digital UX Content team, the digital content engineer serves as the content lead for the cross-functional team focused on digital experiences. Responsible for the development and implementation of technical solutions that align with the creation, structure, delivery and management of content to bridge business goals and user needs. Takes a user-first and mobile-first approach to deliver quality content-managed solutions that drive customer engagement and enhance the author experience on and other websites. Serves as key collaborator between content, design and product teams to ensure alignment on key goals, objectives and solutions. Works closely with technical teams to review and approve technical specifications for new components and development on the content management system. Serves as advocate of business goals and user needs to product owners. Champions author experience in systems and products and leads user acceptance testing of new development. Develops key deliverables such as author documentation, stakeholder interviews, content briefs, page tables, user flows, editorial style guides and governance plans for campaigns and special projects. Creates and curates core web content and content hierarchy for distribution among web channels. Ensures alignment with search engine optimization and content personalization. Understands various web media and promotional channels, such as social and email, and provides key content to meet the marketing needs of each. Trains users on the CMS, and creates documentation. 


    • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Journalism/English, Marketing, Advertising, or Interactive/Digital Media with a minimum 5 years hands-on web experience, including at least 3 years of web content development
    • Project management skills a plus
    • Must be able to work autonomously and handle multiple projects in a busy work environment
    • Knowledge of digital content strategy, content marketing, and digital marketing channels
    • Ability to collaborate with design teams on user experience
    • Basic HTML knowledge and hands-on experience with visual HTML tools such as Dreamweaver required
    • Graphics production with Photoshop and Fireworks required
    • Experience with Adobe digital suite, including Adobe Experience Manager, a plus
    • Excellent communications skills required, as is editing and writing ability
    • Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with rapidly changing technology
    • Willingness to learn new software packages quickly and assist in department training
    • Experience with content management applications required
    • Must have great attention to detail, and adapt well to working on large teams with varied goals
    • Must possess a valid driver's license.
