Job Purpose

The Instructional Technologist/Designer is responsible for creating graphically rich corporate education materials in traditional and web-based formats to support the professional development of ALSAC employees and other organizational training needs. Coordinates with ALSAC leaders and staff to implement state-of-the-art learning experiences including text-based and web-based training tools/materials. Seeks out innovative approaches to instructional design and evaluation blending contemporary and traditional training methodologies to deliver optimal job and organizational performance results. Serves as an internal consultant/advisor for higher-level leadership development. Provides leadership and support for improving and/or developing people, systems, work processes and work environment mainly for the organization’s leaders at all levels. Assists in promoting change initiatives and culture developing interventions that minimize employee resistance and maximize employee engagement. Works with division/department managers and senior level employees in designing leaning strategies that will leverage e-learning and other delivery methods that will support the acceleration of learning as measured in performance. Serves in a teaching and mentoring capacity for peers and business partners. 


  • Requires knowledge of instructional design methods and tools.
  • This position requires strong knowledge of andragogy and instructional design, plus exceptional skill in developing and maintaining thorough, ongoing quality assurance processes.
  • Working knowledge of competency-based corporate education programs to deliver employee education, training assessment tools; design of curriculum for adult learners.
  • Experience training in a corporate setting.
  • Knowledge of advanced human resources principles, HR laws and popular managerial philosophies and techniques in order to train employees preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Experience with the use of various audio/visual multimedia and learning tools; Ability to understand complex verbal and written communication skills; Experience with the Adobe suite of multimedia development tools for learning programs and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge ordinarily acquired through Bachelor’s degree and 4-5 years of training/development experience and provide consultation/coaching.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
