Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting fundraising efforts for the $200 million+ Gift Planning budget through clear, persuasive, fundraising-based copy-writing for a variety of development, lead-generation and cultivation initiatives. Responsible for completing customized one-to-one donor communications for both Spanish- and English-speaking audiences to align with fundraising strategy and used for the cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of planned gifts, major gifts, foundations, current donors, and prospects. Responsible for transcreating brand messaging and other donor messaging from English into Spanish, as well as writing new Spanish content. Responsibilities include translating individual donor solicitation, cultivation and stewardship strategy into accurate and informative content, creating an effective writing style for garnering planned and major gifts, and providing input to management as related to the expansion of new, strategic fundraising content, particularly in Hispanic markets.

Requirements

  • Requires a detail oriented individual;
  • Must be able to speak and write fluently in both Spanish and English, in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations; Understand complex verbal or written instructions; excellent proofreading skills;
  • Understanding of Hispanic cultures (gleaned through either study or personal experience);
  • Understanding of complex data processing applications including Microsoft Word and Excel for Windows;
  • Knowledge ordinarily acquired through a bachelor’s degree in professional writing, marketing or business related field and 3-5 years of fundraising and/or professional writing experience;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
