Job Purpose

Responsible for the development and implementation of internal communications strategies and plans to assist with employee engagement/recognition and talent acquisition; to raise awareness of Human Resources programs and employee benefits; to promote leadership and professional development opportunities; and, to support other enterprise efforts, including events focused on informing, motivating and drawing feedback from employees at ALSAC. Defines objectives; develops strategies, tactics and messages; writes targeted communications; identifies appropriate channels to effectively achieve desired communications goals; and helps determine and track metrics to demonstrate results. Writes and manages content for the intranet and other internal communications channels.

Requirements

  • Requires thorough knowledge of journalism or related field and substantial internal communication experience in a corporate or agency setting with demonstrated results in communication strategy and planning.
  • Organizational communications experience a plus. Must have excellent speaking skills as well as exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Should have news writing exposure, strong communication planning expertise and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with web content management processes as well as social media concepts and technologies preferred.
  • Graphic and/or web design experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a range of internal stakeholders, including C-level executives.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and have at least functional knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel (SharePoint experience a plus).
  • Knowledge ordinarily acquired through Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field and 5-7 years of experience with enterprise-level corporate communications strategy.
  • Experience in meeting planning, speechwriting and presentation development a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
